Aluminium 5052 Flat Bars are composed primarily of aluminium, typically around 95.7% to 97.7%. Magnesium is the main alloying element, present in the range of 2.2% to 2.8%, which significantly improves strength and corrosion resistance. Chromium is added at approximately 0.15% to 0.35% to enhance resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Iron and silicon are controlled as impurities, each usually below 0.4% and 0.25% respectively. Copper is limited to a maximum of 0.1%, while manganese and zinc are present only in trace amounts.
